District Offering English as a Second Language Program for Adults
The Leander ISD English Literacy and Civics program offers free classes to adults who would like to improve their English skills for activities including communicating with their child’s teacher, working and living in the community, helping their child with homework, or achieving their citizenship.
Classes are held in the evenings at Bagdad Elementary and are available to all parents of LISD school children and members of the community. Adult learners in the EL Civics program learn to listen actively, speak so others can understand, read with understanding, convey ideas in writing, use computers, be a good community member and understand local laws, and be an actively involved parent.
The Adult ESL/EL Civics Fall 2015 Registration is Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 6 pm. Bagdad Elementary in Portable 04.

Site Base Planning Committees Need You!
Each campus within Leander ISD has a Site-Based Planning Committee (SBPC). These committees are composed of district employees, community members, business representatives and parents. SBPC members provide input to the principal on a wide variety of subjects, with an aim of improving the achievement of all students.
The committees address such areas as planning, curriculum, budgeting, staff development, staffing patterns and school organization. Elections for parent representatives are held every fall. Parents can only serve as a parent representative at the campus where they have a child attending school.
If you would like to find out more information about the council, run for one of the parent seats or nominate someone for one of the seats, please call the campus your student attends no later than Friday, Sept. 4.
Enrollment Forms Available Online on March 30 for New LISD Students
Beginning on Monday, March 30, 2015, parents who are registering new students to Leander ISD

registration. Read more...
The district’s online tool, txConnect, allows LISD parents to easily monitor their child’s achievement throughout the school year. LISD parents can use txConnect to access their child’s grades and assignments, view and print their child’s interim progress reports and report cards, view their child’s STAAR (or TAKS) results, immunizations, attendance and student discipline reports. And beginning this year, parents can use txConnect to view, update and print first-day packet forms. Connecting to your child’s learning through txConnect is a simple, two-step process.
